Lawrence County Fair

Last night we went to the Lawrence County fair - where we proceeded to get drenched! However we had a good dinner, company, Kaelin got to ride some rides and we all got to pet some horses.

Here are a few pictures:

K petting the horses with Grandma Cindy:

Hailey reaching out to pet horses with Jecca - and then immediately pulling her hand back very startled when she actually touched it!

K's foot

Ok - so Kaelin was born with her third toe on each foot curling under the second toe. All of our doctors thought that with weight bearing they would straighten out. The right foot has to some degree. However, the left has not. Our dr. has recommended seeing a pediatric orthopedic to take a look - so that in the future it doesn't give her more problems with running etc. Her appt is Sept. 24. Hopefully there is an easy fix.

Sizes

By the way- for those grandparents that want to know.

Hailey has apparently gone through a growth spurt. I just finished packing up the clothes in her room. She is now wearing 18 month clothes (adjustable waste pants!!) and we just put her in size 5 shoes- they are a little too big, but her giant big toe hangs out of her size 4 shoes.

Kaelin is still in size 9 shoes. Her clothes are mostly 4t (also adjustable waste pants). However I bet her next adjustable pants for late fall and winter will be 5t.

1/3 year dr. appts

Today were the girls' doctor appointments. Here are the stats:

Hailey - 19 lbs. 5 oz (30%), 31" (94%) -- compared to Kaelin at this age who was 21lbs, 6oz and 32.2"

They actually want Hailey back in a month to check her weight because she isn't gaining very quickly, but that could just be due to her crazy activeness.

Kaelin was 32.8lbs (70%) and 40" (95%). She had a blockage in her left ear that I have to use drops to clear. We go back in two weeks to check that and get her hearing test done.

So thats it. Hailey got 3 shots and blood drawn for a lead test. Poor thing!

However - to cheer them up - we are going to the fair tonight!! Yea!!

Hello everyone! Sunday was the girls' birthday party! It went very well - but was VERY hot outside. Thank goodness for the two tents we borrowed from Jecca for shade! Also I don't think the kids would have lasted without the slip and slide and pool to play in. (Justin and Ryan had to try out the water slide of course! I got some pictures of Jusitn sliding off the end into our property line.) Of course all needed popsicles and a few gallons of sweet tea and lemonade!

About 60 people filled our backyard for a BBQ lunch and potluck. Then we enjoyed cupcakes made by Aunti Amy and presents! The girls got a lot of cool toys and clothes! Unfortunately Hailey missed a good majority of her party - she fell asleep on Papa Tom for at least 2 hours! Too much heat and excitement I guess!

I posted some video below of us singing Happy Birthday to each girl. We weren't able to use candles because they MELTED. The heat made them so bendable I couldn't put them in the cupcakes! Great Grandma Trezona made Hailey's cake - as you can tell by the pictures - she enjoyed it! I didn't get many pictures - too much running around! (and yes Mom, I got sunburned!) I hope to get some pictures from other family members, when I do I will post more!

Kaelin Rose is 3!!

Today Kaelin turned THREE! Three going on six! :) We started the morning with polichintas (sp?) - Hungarian crepes - per Kaelin's request for breakfast.

Then she went next door to play for an hour and have lunch! This started about a week ago - I am SO not ready for her to be going to a friend's house, but she is handling it really well. She has been over three times this week, and I think Abby has been her that many times as well. Her 'best friend' is Abby - she is turning 5 in September and will be starting kindergarten this year - but they get along really well. The both love dress up and Princesses!

This evening Papa Tom, Grandma Barb, Uncle Jasey, Aunti Amy and Dominic joined us at Chuck E Cheese for dinner! Chuck E even came out to sing to Kaelin!! We had a ton of fun! She got a princess hat and skirt (that lights up!) from Uncle Jasey. She also got her very first dollhouse and a couple of rooms of furniture from Papa Tom and Grandma Barb. It was a HUGE hit! It is the Fisher Price Loving Family dollhouse (for those of you that have girls around Kaelin's age), and it is awesome! She is going to want to be in her room all of the time now that it and her dress up stuff are in there!

The big party for her and Hailey and all the local family (about 80 or so people) will be Sunday, so our next blog will probably be after that. Here are some pictures from today to enjoy:

We had some Dora party stuff someone gave us, so that is what we used.

Hailey did NOT like her hat!

Dominc ripped his off, but no tears.
Hailey tried to eat her pizza like a big girl - or so she thought!
Chuck E singing to K.
K blowing out her candles.
Kaelin with Chuck E Cheese. And of course she smile right after we took the picture!
Hailey - messy!
Dominic - MESSIER!

Princess Chuck E Cheese?!

Hailey is walking...

Hailey's 1st Birthday!

Last Thursday (July 30th) was Hailey's first birthday! I can hardly believe how fast the last year has gone. Justin's dad, step mom, brother, sister and our nephew were here. We all went to dinner and then had Coldstone icecream cake! She loved it of course! Here are some pictures from the day:

Tomorrow is Kaelin's 3rd birthday. The girls are having a joint party on Sunday (a princess party) with our nearby friends and family - we are expecting about 80 people! We are very excited to show everyone our new place and celebrate our girls' birthdays!
The girls' next doctor visits are their one and three year well visits. They are scheduled for August 20th, so I will post all the stats then.
