Valentine's Day 2012

We have had a rough few weeks here with strep throat plaguing the family!  Kaelin came down with it on February 5th followed by Hailey and I on February 13.  The poor girls were so sick....with over 103  degree temps.  It was so sad.   However, we tried to make Valentine's fun for them.

Kaelin had a party at school on Monday that she had to decorate a "mail box" for.  I wrapped it, and she did all the stickers - completely on her own.

She can't take candy into school, so we came up with another idea...thanks to Pinterest!  We made rainbow heart shaped crayons.  The girls helped me to peel the crayons and then I cut them up and melted them in silicone molds.

Kaelin also had a party with her cheer squad on Monday night.  We made the butterfly suckers - also from Pinterest.  She helped me with the 'googly' eyes and gluing the hearts on.

I made the pretzel buttons with hug candies (Pinterest again :)), and found the cookies a few weeks ago - the girls thought they were cool.  This was their snack on Valentine's Day.  Justin brought them home a little bouquet or roses and small chocolate box and 2 dresses each (which they both needed anyhow!). They both felt so special.

My sister sent the girls a package from the Popcorn Factory of heart cookies with frosting and decor.  Ray helped the girls Wednesday to decorate them.  Always fun especially for me, hehe, because Ray cleaned up afterwards!

Logan is 4 months and K is a cheerleader!

Kaelin is LOVING cheer.  We are so blessed by our church and the Upward Sports organization!  She is cheering for basketball.  Practice is on Monday and games are held on Saturdays.  Here are some pictures from Saturday, February 4th.

Logan turned 4 months old on February 4th! He is doing so well.  We are supplementing about 2 bottles of formula a day, as well as feeding with rice or oatmeal cereal once a day.  We also started baby food (carrots on Sunday the 5th).  The very first feeding he inhaled the cereal.  He definitely knows what to do when he sees a spoon! hehe

Monday was Logan's 4 months check up and shots.  He is off the charts in height - 28", and in the 96% in weight - 16 lbs., 2oz.  He has had a slight runny nose and been really sleepy while recovering from the shots. He loves to play in the exersaucer.  He is starting to grab at things.  He is also trying to hold his own bottle - though usually he ends up pushing it out of the mouth and fighting with us a bit as he 'helps'.  He wakes about once a night to eat but other than that is a good sleeper. He has the most wonderful chunky thighs!

Also on Saturday we left for Splash Lagoon (an indoor water park) - our gift from Papa Keith and Grandma Cindy for Christmas.  The whole family went - 14 people!  We stayed overnight, but I have NO pictures...hard to carry a baby and camera around a water park! Jecca did get a few that I will steal eventually.  :)

Kaelin started to feel kinda icky on Saturday afternoon, but after a rest and some dinner she was back on her feet and seemed fine Sunday.  Unfortunately after we got home Sunday she started having bad stomach cramps and a high fever.  There was nothing we could do to relieve her pain :(.  So, while we were at Logan's 4 month check up we had the dr. take a look at her too - she has a bad case of strep throat!  It caused the stomach cramps, high fever, and swollen lymph nodes.  She has had to miss her first days of school this year (tomorrow will be her 3rd day at home this week).  She also had to miss a cheer practice - she wasn't thrilled about that at all.  Thankfully after 2 days on antibiotics her fever has come down to 99.3 and the pains have almost disappeared.  Continuing to pray for healing for her and hoping she can return to school on Thursday.

Glimpses...

None of these pictures link together.  They are just glimpses of our family from the last few weeks.  I love each and every one of them!

Uncle Ray and his guys....hahaha  He must be very comfortable.

Hailey and Dominic perusing the mall together.

Uncle Ray training Logan in video games.

Kaelin read her first full book!  She is really liking her ability to read!

Logan looking much older than he is in the Bumbo seat.

Holding his bottle...it didn't last very long.

Happy New Year!

Happy 2012 from the Magee Kids!

A few firsts this month...

Logan's first Chuck E Cheese visit.

Kaelin and Hailey had their first living room sleepover.  They stayed up late with Daddy watching movies.  Needless to say, all three were exhausted the next day, not much sleeping occurred.

Kaelin started her first extracurricular activity: Cheerleading!

Last night (1/22) Logan had his first food - rice cereal.  He did really well with it!
Shocking, Logan loves to eat!

Logan's Cuteness in January

Random cute pics of Logan

Had to buy this shirt at Children's Place. It makes me laugh.
By the way, he is a snowman, not a peguin (which my husband and sister thought!).

 LOVE this face!

 Our little referee

Jammin' out on Hailey's Ipod. Good thing those headphones are kid safe!

He is the only one of our kids who prefers his thumb to the pacifier.  We are working on that :).
I prefer the paci, because eventually I can take it away.

Logan ready to celebrate Brayden's First Birthday!

A picture of me I actually like.  We were laying on the floor watching Baby Einstein together.
HE LOVES BABY EINSTEIN.  He actually talks to the tv!

Had to hold the puppy to sleep. If it slipped out of his grasp, he woke up.

Logan has had a few feeding issues the past few weeks (Same timing as K and H as babies).  We were still nursing but he was constantly fussy.  Finally I decided to pump and feed him bottles.  What we found is he will drink 5 oz at a time, and I was only providing 2-3!  So for the past 5 days he has been getting bottles, (about 2 a day of formula, the rest from me), and we have a happy boy again!  I am providing 20-25 oz a day, while little man is eating 30-35 oz a day, so for now formula is lending a hand to help him grow.

He tries to help hold the bottle, but it only lasts for 10-15 seconds.

Logan is a happy guy and such a blessing.  Every time I say, "I Luv You!" I get a HUGE grin!
It makes my day.

Logan is 3 months!

Logan is 3 months old! He weighs 14 lbs, 9.5 oz, and is 27.5 inches long! He had a follow up with the specialist yesterday - he is doing great and doesn't need to go back! He is such a good boy, very content.  Rarely cries, unless he is hungry...then he wants to eat now! :) I do wish he could go a bit longer in between feedings - a steady 2-3 hours (even at night).  I do get usually a 4-5 hour stretch once a day - usually early evening, or late evening to just after I go to bed :).

He really enjoys his play mat, batting at all the animals, and loves to look in the mirror.  He is starting to kick a lot, and roll on his side.  He manages to spin himself around his circle, usually at least 180 degrees.  He is just starting to look at the toys on his car seat.  He really likes soft, minky blankets.  If one is on him he will grab it and pull it up to rub on his face. It is adorable.  If he is fussy at all, usually a minky blanket will fix it.

Jecca came to take some pictures today --- cute as usual!

Saying prayers...

 Love this look:

 All innocent.

Not a great picture, but so funny. He looks like a pirate, Argh!

Taking pictures wore him out. Nap time.
Jecca likes to take sleepy pictures, and I think they are pretty cute too!

We did an outfit change, he wasn't that into picture taking anymore, but we got a few.

Spit bubbles.  He is starting to blow bubbles/drool constantly.
Either that or he is a lizard, he is constantly playing with his tongue. It's hysterical!

Logan's surprised face....big eyes! That flash was bright :).
