St. Patrick's Day!

Here are some pictures from yesterday and updates on the girls - Enjoy!

We started our St. Patrick's day off with a breakfast of green eggs...yep, that's right - green eggs! Kaelin loved it! I may start dying her eggs different colors more often! Then the girls (mainly Kaelin) and I spend the day coloring shamrocks and cooking dinner. We had Shepherd's Pie, Irish Soda Scones, Salad, and limeade punch for dinner, and Bailey's Mousse Pie for dessert (chocolate pudding for Kaelin)!

Hailey is very actively crawling now - at 7 &1/2 months. She also thinks it is so fun to clap for herself quite often! :) She loves to stand and hold onto things, but has only pulled herself up a handful of times.
We have been actively potty training Kaelin since Monday. She is wearing 'big girl panities', and is doing well. We are having about an accident a day. Until today I have had to ask her to go potty about evey hour. However today she has asked me several times, so we are making progress!!
After dinner yesterday we went to the park for the first time this year! We went with Aunt Amy, Uncle Brad and Cousin Dominic. Hailey went in the swings for the first time! She loved it! She wasn't so sure about going down the slides. Our weather here has been awesome - 50/60 degrees! Today it is supposed to hit 72! However - don't be jealous...tomorrow it is supposed to be back to 30!

Jodi - Update

Hi! As you know I broke my right foot on Feb. 14th. As of last Wednesday my right knee had also swollen to about twice its normal size. After a quick trip to the doctor, more x-rays, draining the knee and a shot of cortisone....the doctor believes I have also torn the meniscus in my knee and that using the walking cast is irritating it! He told me to stay off it for a week (yeah right!) and then we would check it again.

Monday (the 9th) I went back. He decided I did not need an MRI at this point of my knee. He actually wants me to start walking around (at home only) for a few hours a day over the next 3-4 weeks without my cast. We will see if that takes added stress off my knee and allows it to heal itself!

Hopefully when I go back in 4 weeks, the foot and knee will both be completely healed! If the knee is not healed, they will do an MRI at that time, followed by outpatient surgery, and 3-4 more weeks of recovery! I am hoping all will be well soon, and am very gratefully to be losing the cast - even for brief periods of time!

Auntie Bobbi's visit

My sister came for a visit last weekend! We had so much fun with her here! It was the first time she met Hailey - in person (not on Skype) - and she hadn't seen Kaelin since Christmas '07. Here are some pictures from her visit!

Kaelin- so cute in the sweatshirt Aunti Bobbi bought her, and the shoes Grandma Barb and Papa Tom got her.

PS - Hailey is a big girl - she is holding her own bottle starting the beginning of this week!

Hailey and Kaelin

Hailey is a big girl! Today was her 6 month dr. appointment. She is 27&1/2" long and 17lbs, 4 oz. This puts her at the 95% for height and 75% for weight. She is 2 oz. heavier than Kaelin was at this age and 1/2" longer.

She is still working on crawling! She can get to her knees on her own and rocks away - but can only manage to squirm backwards across a room and spin in a circle! She was rocking on her knees this morning and moved herself into a sitting position for the first time!

Also - I know this post is about Hailey - but I had to share Kaelin's new fun. She now comes at you wiggling her fingers and says, " I can't stop my hands, they want to tickle you!" It is so cute!

Here is a picture---if you want to see pics of Hailey at 6 months, scroll down a few posts!

Valentine's Preparation...

Here are some pictures of our Valentine's Preparation...I think they are all from the same day (Wednesday 2/11 - which happens to be Janelle's Birthday!). Also included are some random shots from that day. Enjoy!

Hailey Grace - she was sporting some lovely hair that morning!

That afternoon while I was watching our nephew - Dominic decided to crawl under the table like his big cousin - he got stuck on one of the chairs. Yes I am an aunt that will take the picture first, and then set him free!

Kaelin decorating her first cookie for the night!

What? isn't taking a bite off of the corner decorating it???

Might as well eat the rest now!

Hailey wasn't sure what she thought of frosting!

But Dominic likes it!!

The finished cookies.

The puppy heart cookies I made for the kids.

Happy Valentine's Day - Love, Hailey (This picture was actually on 2/14)

Health

Hello all. For those of you that don't know I had an MRI on Friday morning of my head and neck. FYI - all is clear. Everything looked normal. An update for all of you that don't know the details...

I have been having pain - hips, knees, hands, neck, migraines and arm numbness for the past 5-8 years - getting worse in the last 6 months or so. I have seen a doctor and had several blood tests run. The only thing that came back was an elevated level for rheumatoid arthritis. I am seeing a Rheumatologist in April to confirm whether or not I actually have rheumatoid arthritis.

In the meantime I am on a prescription to help with the pain and was attending physical therapy until Friday. Unfortunately I won't be out of the house much in the next few weeks (which means no therapy)...because I broke my right foot on Saturday morning - yep on Valentine's Day!

Story is - I was rushing to take laundry downstairs, tried to avoid one of Bandit's bones, and instead missed a step ---falling down to the landing. Ta Da = a broken foot and several hours in the ER. Luckily today we say the orthopedic dr. and he has allowed me to have a walking boot so that I can continue my day to day activities of taking care of the girls...unfortunately it still means no driving. For some reason Justin doesn't want me driving the girls with my left foot unless absolutely necessary! :)

So - that is what is going on. Please keep me in your prayers!

Love,
Jodi
